Dennis Markey

The son of an Air Force pilot implies a certain strictness and a childhood of travel and constantly making new friends. I always loved drawing and creating things.

As an architect for forty years in Kansas City, working on projects all over the country.

Working on large office buildings and hospitals for months at time, the engineering, the composition, the hidden aspects involved in architecture that take time and aren’t appreciated.

Architecture forces the architect to be detailed and precise. Straight lines and a reason for each thought. I tried to draw on weekends  that were not so structured.

Now as an artist, I love the art of the painting to have a loose interpretation of the subject and implied detail. Let the viewer finish the painting in their mind, to see the details.
